WEEK SEISMICITY REPORT FOR MARCH 31, 2025 TO APRIL 6, 2025
During the week of March 31, 2025, the Alaska Earthquake Center reported 456 earthquakes within the state. The largest earthquake was magnitude 5.5 that occurred on April 2 at 08:26:32 AKDT (April 2, 16:26:32 UTC), 21 miles SW of Attu.
On March 31, 2025 at 20:04:36 AKDT, a magnitude 5.1 earthquake occurred 20 miles N of Ukinrek Craters. This event was reported as felt throughout the Alaska Peninsula region between Shelikof Strait and Bristol Bay. There have been 35 recorded aftershocks from this event as well, the largest being a magnitude 4 earthquake.
The swarm south of Adak continues, but activity has subsided with 20 earthquakes this week. The largest recorded event in this swarm this week was a magnitude 3.4 earthquake.
Additionally, 10 icequakes were recorded this week.
